Pasta with Chicken Bites in a Spicy White Sauce

Today I’m sharing one of our favorite chicken breast recipes, the kind that will have you licking your fingers! I used to order this pasta dish at a restaurant and loved it so much that I decided I had to recreate it at home. To be honest, it took me quite a while to get the flavor exactly as I remembered it. I experimented with different spices and adjusted the amounts again and again, but eventually I got it just right! And the real star of this dish is that incredible sauce. Don’t let its appearance fool you. At first glance, it may look like a typical creamy chicken sauce, but the flavor is completely different. It’s bold, spicy and full of flavor, and I think you’ll be surprised by just how delicious it is!
🛒Ingredients
- 🍝 1 package pasta of your choice
- 🍗 2 chicken breast fillets
- 🍲 1½ cups chicken broth
- 🥛 ½ cup heavy cream
- 🧈 1 Tbsp butter
- 🌾 1 Tbsp all-purpose flour
- 🫒 1 Tbsp olive oil
- 🌿 ½ cup finely chopped parsley
- 🧀 Grated cheese of your choice, for serving
- 🧂 Salt and pepper
You will also need 1 level tsp of each of the following spices:
- 🧅 Onion powder
- 🧄 Garlic powder
- 🌶️ Paprika
- 🌶️ Cayenne pepper
- 🌿 Dried oregano
- 🌿 Dried thyme
- 🌶️ Sweet or hot red pepper flakes
Of course, you can adjust the amount of the spices or leave some of them out, depending on your taste and how spicy or hot you want the dish to be.
👩🍳Instructions
Cook the pasta according to the package instructions and set it aside.

Cut the chicken breast fillets into bite-sized pieces and place them in a bowl. Add the spices, salt and pepper, and mix well until the chicken is evenly coated.

Heat the olive oil in a large skillet and sauté the chicken bites.

Gradually add ½ cup of the chicken broth and simmer until the chicken is cooked through. Remove the chicken from the skillet and set it aside.

Melt the butter in the same skillet. Add the flour and cook briefly, stirring constantly.

Gradually pour in the remaining 1 cup of chicken broth, stirring continuously to prevent lumps from forming.

Add the heavy cream and continue stirring until the sauce begins to simmer and thicken.
Set aside some of the sauce for serving, then add the pasta to the skillet. Toss well and let it sit in the sauce briefly so it can absorb all those wonderful flavors.

Add the chicken bites to the reserved sauce and toss to coat.
Serve the pasta topped with the chicken bites and sauce, then sprinkle with the finely chopped parsley and grated cheese of your choice.
Enjoy!
