Cherry Sauce, quick and easy

Fruit syrups and sauces are some of the best toppings for desserts, ice cream, and even yogurt. Of course, you can buy them ready-made, but they are so easy to prepare at home that making your own is well worth it.
I have already shared another cherry sauce recipe, that is absolutely delicious, but it takes a little more time. Today, I’m sharing a different version, my “go-to” cherry sauce recipe whenever I need something quick and reliable.
With just a few cherries and only 5 minutes of cooking time, you can have a beautiful sauce ready to enjoy immediately. It looks gorgeous, tastes amazing, and pairs perfectly with all kinds of desserts.

Ingredients
- 🍒 500 g cherries
- 🍬 1/2 cup sugar
- 💧 1/2 cup water

Preparation

Wash and pit the cherries. Place them in a saucepan together with the sugar and water and heat over medium heat. Stir occasionally until the mixture comes to a boil.

Dissolve the cornstarch in the lemon juice and add it to the saucepan. Stir gently and continuously until the sauce thickens.

Remove from the heat and taste. Depending on your preference, you may wish to add a little more lemon juice or a little extra sugar.
🍒 From personal experience…
🔸 If you need the sauce quickly and want it to cool down fast, spread it out in a shallow baking tray.
🔸 This amount of cherry sauce is enough to make not one, but two delicious cherry desserts, Black Forest Cheesecake Cupcakes and the Black Forest Cheesecake Cake with Brownies. As for me, I still find it difficult to decide which one I love more. If you do manage to choose, be sure to let me know your secret!
Enjoy!
